the future E-car

presentation

two weeks are about to end and now its time to put the whole concept together as a presentation
we only had one day to finish a whole presenation so that our concept could be conveyed
as a whole
after lot of discussion on our medium of representation we chooose to work with stop motion
movies.

it started with first doing a rough sketch of the whole story board. then we indivitually did each frame and put them in sequence. these frames where then drawn on the blackboard and then photographed.

sound recording where done and in the end everything was put together in a movie making software.

TESTING THE PROTOTYPE

prototype of the e-car was tested on the people who suited our personas.
our persona was about this social worker lone who visits some 20-25 people in a day and has to maintain a visit log along with notes on the client.
we tried our prototype on few employees of kolding kommune which do social work.
these people after going through the whole trial phase gave us their inputs ans suggestions.
one of them being that the interface screen should be more towards the driver for easy access.

PROTOTYPE

PROTOTYING AND TESTING

it was now time to make prtotypes of our concept/ design space and test on potential users.
we were working on developing the first relationship with electric car .
so we made a small prototype of how the car dash board will look, along with the interface.
we also prototyped what kind of a device would a user have in 2020 to operate his car instead of carrying an extra key.

day six- presentation of the design spaces and choosing the most potential design space

First half of the day was spent in 7 min presentation eachwe presenetd our 5 different design spaces where we saw our pitch working.
1) as a company car- like a couple of small companies come together to share a number of cars , so that no one really own s any but everyone can use it.

2) game- a entertaining family even to make people use electric c
ar on a treasure hunt

3) rent a car- people who dont have cars can rent the car for a day to use

4) free trial- to allow people to have risk free trial comnies like dong can let their customers try the electric car for a week .
5) active visualisation- interface design

After the feed backs that we got we realised that some of these services alreday exist in smaller scale or level. what we needed was to create something more wild and wacky because we are thinking about 2020.

This was followed by focusing on one concept so that we can develope it. the concept now had to
be detailed out so that all the aspects which we might have overlooked till now can be taken into consideration. they made us develope arun phase for the whole concept which will help us
develope the design space more appropriately.

we had to deal and work on several factors like-
awareness
understanding
sign up
run- phase
advocate

we had to place our stakeholder/actor in all these situations to see how they would function,
what problems they would face, what were the benefits or short coming of the system.

we choose to work with the company car concept because we thought it had a lot of potential and some how helped us fulfill our pitch and allow our personas to fit in well.

but decisions are not always easy and they lead to more confusion and crisis. the question here is who do we adress to
the decision maker- the owner of a company who buys the car for the emplyee OR
the employee- and make him connect to the car by customising it and personalizing the car.

day five- identify your stakeholders and 5 imporatnt design spaces

friday was about giving life to the personana created by presenting them out to evryone and and talking about our 5 design spaces that we visualized them to be in

rest of the day was spent in just mindmapping more and more upon the 5 design scenarions and drawing out story board. the idea being thet we are able to visualize how the personna at a personal and regular level intereact with car .
this helped us to map out the benefits, interaction points, selling point and the competition for the concept.
